XXXIX National Ice Skating Championship 2026 Comes to Cancún

For the first time, Cancún will host the XXXIX National Ice Skating Championship, taking place May 18–24 at the modern Happy Arena rink inside Plaza Outlet. The week-long competition marks a milestone for the city and further positions Cancún as a growing destination for national sporting events.

More than 400 skaters from across Mexico are expected to compete, representing states including Estado de México, Mexico City, Puebla, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Tabasco, Yucatán, San Luis Potosí, and Quintana Roo, along with athletes from the National Polytechnic Institute and Metepec. Among the highlights is the participation of two-time Olympian Donovan Carrillo, one of Mexico’s most recognized figure skaters.

Throughout seven days, spectators can expect high-level routines, official ceremonies, and a dynamic atmosphere as athletes, coaches, judges, and families gather for one of the country’s most important figure skating events.
