Fractales de Viento: Piano Concert by Amir Akil Salazar

The Playa del Carmen Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts presents the artistic debut of Quintana Roo pianist Amir Akil Salazar with Fractales de Viento, a free piano concert at the Teatro de la Ciudad.

At just 19 years old, Amir Akil is a self-taught pianist whose program blends classical pieces with contemporary favorites and popular music. The concert will include works by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Japanese pianist Matsuii, along with music associated with Rocío Dúrcal, Radiohead, Bee Gees, John Lennon, and ABBA.

Amir began playing after receiving his first keyboard from his grandfather at age 11. Since then, he has performed with orchestras and groups in shows at various tourism venues, and recently worked under the direction of Professor Liliam Lima, director of the Playa del Carmen Children’s and Youth Symphony Orchestra.
