Festival de la Tierra (3rd Edition)
April 18 – 25 | 3rd Festival de la Tierra (Playa del Carmen)
The 3rd Festival de la Tierra returns to Playa del Carmen from April 18 to 25, 2026, inviting the community to reconnect with the natural world through culture, dialogue, and practical solutions. This year’s theme — “Reforest through culture and consciousness” — sets the tone for a week of environmental education and grassroots action.
One of the key events takes place Sunday, April 19 at 6:00 PM at Cafebrería Zapatista in Villas del Sol. The evening will feature a talk and audiovisual presentation on dry toilets — exploring ecological sanitation as a conscious alternative for water conservation in karst regions like ours. Specialists, collectives, and sustainability advocates will share research, lived experiences, and regenerative design perspectives.
Throughout the week, the festival includes exhibitions, circular concerts, community conversations, and hands-on activities. On April 22, participants are encouraged to plant a tree and share their photos, and on April 25, a human chain action will take place in Chen Zubul.
Bring your own reusable containers and help reduce waste at festival events.
