Mar de Almas: Janal Pixan Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos honors Hanal Pixán, the Maya tradition of remembering loved ones who have died, with three days of community celebrations beside the Caribbean. Mar de Almas will include boat and walking processions, concerts, traditional ceremonies and cultural activities.

This year’s contests invite participants to create Catrina and Catrín costumes, decorated façades, monumental Catrinas, decorated boats, and handcrafted Catrinas and alebrijes.
