Gracias a la Vida: 3rd Anniversary Concert of Cancún’s Municipal Choir

<p>🎶 Cancún’s <strong>Municipal Choir Company</strong> will celebrate its third anniversary with <strong>Gracias a la Vida</strong>, a free concert honoring Chilean singer-songwriter <strong>Violeta Parra</strong> and the music that helped shape Latin American identity during the 1960s and 1970s.<br><br>The program will feature works by artists and composers from across Latin America, including <strong>Violeta Parra, Silvio Rodríguez, Ariel Ramírez, Víctor Jara</strong>, and Spanish singer-songwriter <strong>Joan Manuel Serrat</strong>.<br><br>With new arrangements and updated interpretations, the choir will perform both a cappella and with accompaniment from piano, guitar, <strong>Veracruz-style jarana, donkey jawbone percussion</strong>, and other traditional instruments.<br><br>Highlights from the repertoire include <strong>“Gracias a la Vida,” “Cantares,” “La Maza,”</strong> and <strong>“Te recuerdo Amanda,”</strong> songs known for their emotional power, social meaning, and lasting influence across generations.<br><br><strong>Sunday, July 19 | 1 PM</strong><br><strong>Teatro de la Ciudad, Cancún</strong><br><strong>Free admission<br>Choral music | Latin American songbook | Violeta Parra tribute | Free concert<br><br></strong>Tickets can be requested at the theater box office beginning <strong>two hours before the performance</strong>, while supplies last.</p><p><br></p>
