May 23 – 24 | Free Dog & Cat Sterilization Campaign (Tulum)

A free sterilization campaign for dogs and cats will take place May 23 and 24 at Escuelita Arrecifes in Tulum, organized by citizens and independent promoters working to reduce the growing population of stray animals in the municipality.

The service is completely free, but space is limited and appointments are required. Organizers say sterilization remains one of the most effective tools to prevent unwanted litters, reduce abandonment, and improve pets’ long-term health.

The initiative comes in response to ongoing concerns from residents and animal advocates about the rise in homeless animals and the limited reach of permanent animal control programs.
