Feria de la Cancha Maya 2026

One of Tulum’s longest-running cultural traditions returns in October. The Feria de la Cancha Maya brings together Maya dignitaries and representatives from five ceremonial centers for ten days of religious ceremonies, traditional music, community gatherings, regional food and handicrafts. Families and producers from Maya communities will also take part, offering traditional foods, embroidery, crafts and other locally made products.

The celebration has been part of life in Tulum for more than 60 years and is held twice annually, in March and October. This edition will welcome representatives connected with ceremonial centers including Chumpón, Tixcacal Guardia, Chancah Veracruz and the Cruz Parlante, as well as invited communities from Yucatán.

Visitors are welcome to attend, making this a particularly good opportunity to experience a living Maya tradition that remains very much a part of present-day Tulum. Food will also be shared with attendees through the traditional community practice known as Maatan.
