Agarrando el Rojo: Mercadito, Workshops & Circus
Agarrando el Rojo brings a full day of art, culture, circus and community to the Puerto Morelos Botanical Garden. Browse a local market filled with handmade goods, natural products, plants, art, food and drinks, then explore a packed program of workshops and live performances throughout the garden.
Morning activities include tribal-style belly dance, Afro-Guinean dance, collage and painting, meditation, AcroPsicoYoga, social circus, object balancing, clown, physical theater, flexibility, contact staff and recycled weaving. There will also be talks and activities focused on wildlife and the Maya jungle, plus María Leticia Rioja’s Concierto Circular: Revolución Integral.
From 1:30 PM, the focus shifts to live entertainment with puppetry, improv, aerial arts, clown, contortion, knife throwing, acrobatics, poetry and more, closing with a fusion of pre-Hispanic, Indian and Arabic performance.
