DESCRIPTION:For one week in October\, Playa Food Week invites residents and
  visitors to get out and explore Playa del Carmen’s restaurant scene whi
 le supporting local businesses. Organized by the Asociación de Gastronóm
 icos de Playa del Carmen\, the week brings participating restaurants toget
 her under the theme Sabores que nos unen — Flavors That Bring Us Togethe
 r\, with each business offering its own Food Week promotion or experience.
 \n\nOctober 12–18 | Participating restaurants throughout Playa del Carme
 n\n\nRather than taking place at a single venue\, this is a citywide event
 : choose from the participating restaurants\, check out their Food Week of
 fering and make a week of trying somewhere new. The focus is as much on su
 pporting Playa’s independent restaurant community as it is on eating wel
 l—something the state tourism authority also emphasizes in its promotion
