 sport fishing events\, the tournament draws national and international com
 petitors to the island each year.The three-day program begins with a tradi
 tional Captains’ Dinner on May 22\, followed by two full days of offshor
 e competition on May 23 and 24. The event concludes with an awards ceremon
 y on the afternoon of May 24 at Playa Centro. Beyond the competition\, the
  tournament is a major boost for local tourism\, celebrating Isla Mujeres
 ’ strong maritime tradition and vibrant sport fishing culture.
